Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to in-person courses delivered by ShamanicHealing.org.uk (the “Provider”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Please read carefully before booking. By booking, you agree to these Terms.

 

1. About us

  1. Introduction to Shamanism (Weekend Course) (venue-based, non-residential)

  2. Wild Wisdom Ways (Bardsey Island Retreat) (residential retreat including boat transfers)

  3. Shamanic Practitioner Training (Hybrid Residential Programme) (multi-module programme with residential components)

  4. Transform From Within (2 x Residential Training Weeks) (multi-module programme with residential components)

 

2. Definitions

  • Booking: Your reservation of a place on a course.

  • Participant/you: The person attending the course.

  • Deposit: Any non-refundable or partially refundable upfront payment (if applicable).

  • Start date: The first scheduled date of the course (or first module for multi-module programmes).

  • Materials: Any manuals, handouts, or resources provided.

 

3. Eligibility, suitability and participant responsibilities

  • You must be at least 18 years old to attend unless explicitly stated otherwise.

  • Our courses are experiential and may be emotionally challenging. You are responsible for assessing your own suitability.

  • You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information during booking and any pre-course screening.

  • Follow reasonable instructions from facilitators.

  • Treat other participants with respect and maintain confidentiality.

  • Arrive on time and participate in a way that does not disrupt the group.

  • We may ask to speak with you before accepting your booking (particularly where we do not know you). We reserve the right to decline or cancel a booking if we reasonably believe the course is not suitable for you, or if your participation may risk your wellbeing or the wellbeing of others.

 

4. What the course is (and is not)

  • Our courses are for personal development, learning and spiritual practice.

  • They are not a substitute for medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal or financial advice.

  • We do not diagnose conditions or prescribe treatment.

  • If you are under the care of a healthcare professional, you should seek advice from them before attending.

 

5. Booking, payment and confirmation

  • A booking is confirmed once we have received payment (or deposit/payment plan agreement) and you have received confirmation from us.

  • Prices are as stated on the relevant course page at the time of booking.

  • Payment plans (if offered) must be kept up to date. If payments fall into arrears, we may suspend your place until payment is brought up to date.

 

6. Changes to the course

  • We may make reasonable changes to course content, schedule, venue, facilitators, or materials where necessary.

  • If we need to make a significant change, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible.

 

7. Cancellation by you (general)

Specific cancellation windows may differ by course type. See the relevant course section below.

  • To cancel, you must notify us in writing.

  • Refunds (if any) are processed to the original payment method.

  • We are not responsible for third-party costs you incur (e.g., travel, insurance, accommodation booked independently).

 

8. Cancellation or postponement by us (general)

  • We may cancel or postpone a course due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including severe weather, illness, venue unavailability, minimum numbers not met, or travel disruption).

  • If we cancel, you will be offered either:

  • A full refund of fees paid to us for the affected course/module, or

  • A transfer to a future date (subject to availability).

  • If we postpone, you may choose to transfer to the new date or request a refund of fees paid to us for the affected course/module.

 

9. Transfers and substitutions

  • Transfers to a different date/course may be permitted at our discretion and may be subject to an administration fee.

  • You may not transfer your booking to another person without our prior written consent.

 

10. Travel, accommodation and insurance (general)

  • You are responsible for arranging appropriate travel and personal insurance unless the course description explicitly includes specific travel/accommodation.

  • We strongly recommend you hold suitable insurance, including (where relevant):

  • Travel insurance

  • Medical cover

  • Cancellation/interruption cover

  • You are responsible for checking passport/visa requirements (if applicable) and any personal health requirements.

 

11. Health, safety and accessibility

  • You must disclose any relevant medical conditions, allergies, mobility needs or other access requirements in advance.

  • You agree to take reasonable care of yourself and others and to comply with venue safety rules.

 

12. Code of conduct

  • We aim to provide a safe, respectful learning environment.

  • We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, bullying or aggressive behaviour.

  • We reserve the right to remove a participant without refund where behaviour is unsafe, disruptive or breaches these Terms.

 

13. Confidentiality and group privacy

  • Participants often share personal experiences. You agree to keep what others share confidential.

  • You must not record (audio/video) any part of the course without our prior written consent.

 

14. Intellectual property

  • All course materials are our intellectual property (or that of our licensors).

  • Materials are for your personal use only and may not be copied, shared, sold, or published without permission.

 

15. Photography and media

  • We will not take or use identifiable photos/videos of you for marketing without your explicit consent.

  • If you take photos, you must respect others’ privacy and obtain consent before sharing.

 

16. Liability (general)

  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any liability that cannot be excluded under law.

  • Subject to the above, we are not liable for:

  • Losses not reasonably foreseeable

  • Indirect or consequential loss

  • Loss of profit, business, or opportunity

  • You are responsible for your personal property. We are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings unless caused by our negligence.

 

17. Data protection

  • We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy (available on our website).

 

18. Complaints

  • If you have a concern, please raise it with the facilitator during the course where possible.

  • If you wish to make a formal complaint, contact us in writing with details. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

 

19. Governing law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

 

 

Course-specific terms

A. Introduction to Shamanism (Weekend Course) — course-specific terms

A1. What’s included

  • Tuition and course materials as described on the course page.

  • Any refreshments/meals only where explicitly stated.

 

A2. What’s not included

  • Travel to/from the venue.

  • Accommodation.

  • Meals unless explicitly stated.

 

A3. Venue rules

  • You must comply with venue policies (including noise, parking, and any health & safety requirements).

 

A4. Cancellation by you (weekend course)

  • If you cancel more than 30 days before the start date: refund of fees paid minus an administration fee (or deposit retained if a deposit is used).

  • If you cancel 30 days or fewer before the start date: no refund (unless we can resell your place, in which case we may refund minus an administration fee).

  • If you do not attend: no refund.

 

A5. Transfers (weekend course)

  • One transfer to a future weekend date may be permitted if agreed by us.

B. Wild Wisdom Ways (Bardsey Island Retreat) — course-specific terms

B1. What’s included

  • Tuition and guided retreat programme.

  • Accommodation as described on the course page.

  • Boat transfer(s) as described on the course page.

  • Meals as described on the course page.

 

B2. What’s not included

  • Travel to/from the mainland departure point.

  • Personal snacks, specialist dietary items and personal equipment unless stated.

 

B3. Weather, sea conditions and travel disruption

  • Bardsey Island access depends on weather and sea conditions.

  • If boat crossings are delayed, altered or cancelled due to conditions or operator decisions, we will work with you to provide the best available alternative (which may include schedule changes, alternative crossings, or postponement).

  • Where disruption is outside our control, refunds may be limited to amounts we can recover from third-party suppliers.

 

B4. Fitness, terrain and risk awareness

  • The retreat environment may involve:

  • Uneven ground, coastal paths and variable weather

  • Limited services compared to mainland venues

  • You confirm you are able to manage the physical demands described on the course page, or you have discussed adjustments with us in advance.

 

B5. Dietary requirements

  • You must notify us of dietary needs and allergies in advance. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate, but options may be limited.

 

B6. Cancellation by you (retreat)

  • Due to accommodation and boat booking commitments, stricter terms apply:

  • Cancel more than 90 days before the start date: a refund will be provided minus non-recoverable costs (eg. accommodation paid to date, travel booked etc) and an administration fee.

  • Cancel 90 days or fewer before the start date: no refund unless we can resell your place (refund minus non-recoverable costs and an administration fee).

  • We strongly recommend comprehensive travel/cancellation insurance.

 

B7. Transfers (retreat)

  • Transfers are at our discretion and may not be possible due to fixed supplier commitments.

C. Shamanic Practitioner Training (Hybrid Residential Programme) — course-specific terms

C1. Programme structure and commitment

  • This is a multi-module programme delivered over a defined period (e.g., 12 months) with scheduled weekends/residential components.

  • By enrolling, you commit to attending the modules as scheduled and completing any required preparation/practice.

 

C2. What’s included

  • Tuition, group facilitation and materials as described on the course page.

  • Residential accommodation and meals for modules where explicitly included.

 

C3. What’s not included

  • Travel to/from the venue(s).

  • Any accommodation/meals not explicitly included.

  • Personal equipment unless stated.

 

C4. Screening, acceptance and ongoing suitability

  • Acceptance may be subject to an introductory course completion and/or a screening call.

  • We may pause or end your participation if we reasonably believe continuation is not in your best interests or the group’s wellbeing. Where this occurs, refunds are at our discretion and will consider costs already incurred.

 

C5. Missed modules

  • We cannot accommodate anyone who misses any of the modules. It's very difficult to do this as it's very experiential. 

  • In exceptions, where possible, we will try to do this, but it is unlikely.

  • People are expected to attend all the modules unless there are significant and major issues. 

  • By signing up, you are committing to the full training.

 

C6. Payment plans and default

  • If you are on a payment plan, you must keep payments up to date.

  • If payments are missed, we may suspend access to modules until resolved.

 

C7. Cancellation by you (practitioner training)

  • Because programme places are limited and costs are committed in advance:

  • Cancel more than 90 days before the start date: a refund will be provided minus non-recoverable costs (eg. accommodation paid to date etc) and an administration fee.

  • Cancel 90 days or fewer before the start date: no refund unless we can resell your place (refund minus non-recoverable costs and an administration fee).

  • After the programme has started, fees are non-refundable and all payments agreed with a payment plan must be made even if you if decide to not finish the training or miss any modules.

 

C8. Transfers and deferrals (practitioner training)

  • Deferral to a future cohort may be possible at our discretion, subject to availability and an administration fee.

 

C9. Certification/recognition (if applicable)

  • Any completion recognition is based on attendance, participation, and meeting any stated requirements.

D. Transform from Within Course (2 x Residential Training Weeks) — course-specific terms

D1. Programme structure and commitment

  • This is a multi-module programme delivered over a defined period (e.g., 2 x 7-night long in-person gatherings) with scheduled residential components.

  • By enrolling, you commit to attending the modules as scheduled and completing any required preparation/practice.

 

D2. What’s included

  • Tuition, group facilitation and materials as described on the course page.

  • Residential accommodation and meals for modules where explicitly included.

 

D3. What’s not included

  • Travel to/from the venue(s).

  • Any accommodation/meals not explicitly included.

  • Personal equipment unless stated.

 

D4. Screening, acceptance and ongoing suitability

  • Acceptance may be subject to an introductory course completion and/or a screening call.
